Turn a Minute Into a Moment

Turn a Minute Into a Moment

I saw a quote the other day that inspired the 'mantra' above, 'Turn a Minute into a Moment'. I noticed yesterday while hiking that my mind was constantly exploring the thoughts of the future or what I needed to do within my career. My thoughts also went into past stories of how I could have done this or that better, said this with more compassion, etc...Not all days are like this for me but our minds are constantly downloading 'minutes' in the past or future and letting go of the 'moment'. I mean this isn't new news to anyone.

It was such a beautiful warm day and I was loosing the connection to nature and to my feet. So, I sat on a rock and meditated. The mind didn't slow down but that rock grounded me into the earth and the sound of the river brought me back into the moment of 'flow' within and all around, it was a deep exhale.

Yesterday, I taught my typical Saturday yoga class but I was so passionate about the playlist and the invitation into the element water (jala). The jalaBlu logo has a wave designed into the logo but most people don't know the meaning within each part of the logo. Water for me symbolizes so much within the 'jala' space. The flow of souls coming into the sacred space, the tears that move within the space, the flowers on the shrine that bathe in water for nourishment, the waves of life that everyone is exploring, riding the emotions, and that constant offering of moving with the flow...Not so easy at times.

Sound also comes to play within the bodies of water. The sound of the ocean, the roaring river at times and then the sound of silence when the lakes are calm in the evening. Sound is healing and a form of flow moving through our bones. To exhale loudly, make a sigh, sing, scream, is an offering to release so that we can move with ease at times within the flow of life.

So, next time you find your mind in multiple 'minutes' of the past and future...pause.........exhale..... and bring yourself into THE Moment.
